At CES (Consumer Electronic Show), Dell launched two new laptops. The elegant new devices are powered by Windows 10 with all new monitors and dell cinema with which you an experience an immersive audio and visual experience. All new devices are just designed to empower you in the myriad ways you play and work. Dell, this time has come up with a totally refreshed version of its excellent XPS 13 and a 15-inch version of its XPS 2-in-1 notebook. Not only all new laptops but the company is also in process to release a software with a new application that will aim to bring true mobility between a notebook or a PC and a smartphone.
Dell XPS 13
Dell XPS 13 comes with an infinity edge display as in 2015 but this time, the company has improved the design this year. The notebook is packed with the best windows. The notebook will work on windows 10. This time, the XPS 13 is just 12mm thick and is nearly 5mm thinner than its predecessor. The company, this time has made major design changes in the form of a new white and gold colour option and updated the port selection. The company will be using crystalline silica material in white colour for a woven fabric like feel on the white and gold colour variant. The all-new XPS 13 features same old 13-inch display but will be configured with a 4K panel as opposed to the QHD+ panel found on the outgoing model. The all new notebook XPS 13 also comes with options for either i5 or i7 8th generation CPU, with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB of storage. With dropping and adopting the USB type C port instead of the regular USB port, it will include a USB-C to USB-A adapter with the model which will be useful, though in short terms. The notebook will be available at a price of $999 (starting price) and will soon be launched in India later this year.
Dell XPS 15 2-in-1
With last year launched the convertible notebook Dell XPS 13 2-in-1. This year the company announced to launch the 15-inch variant of that convertible device. The notebook will feature same old 360-degree hinge but will use an 8th generation Intel core G series chipset with integrated AMD Radeon RX Vega graphics compared to low power Core M CPU found on the 13-inch version.
Not only this, but the all-new Dell XPS 15-inch variant comes with a maglev keyboard that relies on magnets for actuation. To make sure that the notebook doesn’t lack the feel of clicky, Dell has used a maglev keyboard which looks and feels like a regular keyboard but magnets under the key offer a ‘clickier’ experience. The notebook comes with 8GB or 16GB of RAM, a 1080p or 4K touchscreen display an up to 1TB of storage. With four USB type C ports, the two of them support Thunderbolt 3. The notebook is available at $1,299 and will soon be launched in India later this year.
Dell Mobile Connect
With introducing all newly designed notebooks, the company is all ready to introduce a new software called Dell Mobile Connect. The software will act as a bridge between Dell notebooks and smartphones. The software will be preinstalled on all the Dell notebooks starting January 27 and will also allow to make calls, send text messages, get the notification and even mirror their smartphone applications. The software will work with the smartphones running both on Android and iOS and will enable mobility when switching between a laptop and a smartphone.
