Vivo, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, unveiled a concept phone Vivo APEX at Mobile world congress 2018. The concept smartphone Vivo APEX will come with an in-display fingerprint scanner. The company has described the all-new concept Vivo APEX as “half screen in-display fingerprint scanning technology” which will definitely be a head turner this year. Vivo has sent out media invites for an announcement on March 5 that will be held at the Vivo Hangzhou Institute. The invite appears to be directly related to the concept smartphone APEX, as the invite uses the words “Unlock the future”.
The new concept smartphone APEX will come with complete bottom half of the OLED screen to recognize a user’s fingerprint. The company has not yet released many details about the concept smartphone, but the smartphone will sport a 5.99-inch display and an aspect ratio of 18:9.
The smartphone will also support an 8-megapixel pop-up selfie camera which will pop up when required. The smartphone also features Vivo’s own screen sound casting technology that will send vibrations through the display without the need for a traditional loudspeaker.
The concept smartphone APEX will be a bezel-less smartphone, which measures 1.8mm and claims to be the thinnest in the industry. The bottom bezel is expected to be 4.3mm with a screen to body ratio exceeding 98 percent.
To integrate the DAC and three operational amplifiers together, the company features SIP (System in Package), which ultimately reduces the need for circuit board space nearly by 60 percent.
However, much details about the smartphone are not known, but with a periscope style and all the other features known makes for an impressively exciting package.
